The year 2025 has brought many changes to the Dutch railway network. The changes can be seen in my updated 2024 map of the Netherlands. The connections have been further systematised:

  • Newly introduced Sprinter services run between Amsterdam Centraal, Schiphol and Hoofddorp every 7.5 minutes. All former trains running between Amsterdam Centraal and Schiphol have been changed. N trains from Almere and Amersfoort to Amsterdam Centraal continue beyond Centraal. All trains from Leiden running to Schiphol continue to Amsterdam-Zuid. Except for Eurostar services, all trains from Rotterdam to Schiphol via HSL-Zuid continue to Amsterdam-Zuid instead of Amsterdam Centraal.
  • The Intercity services to Belgium have been rearranged. The hourly Eurocity service runs from Rotterdam via Breda to Antwerp and Brussels and serves the stops that have been served by the former Intercity Brussel. The hourly “Eurocity Direct” service runs from Amsterdam-Zuid to Rotterdam Centraal, Antwerpen-Centraal and Brussel-Zuid.
  • There is a Intercity train between Utrecht, Amsterdam-Zuid, Schiphol, Leiden and Den Haag every ten minutes.
  • There is a Sprinter train runs between Den Haag, Rotterdam and Dordrecht every ten minutes.
  • Intercity trains running from Den Haag to Gouda and Utrecht always continue to Amersfoort. Intercity trains from Rotterdam to Utrecht do not run further.

You can read more about the changes here (in Dutch).

  1. First of all, great map! But there are unfortunately some errors:

    • EuroCity Direct terminates at Brussels South. On your map the services continue to France
    • The ICE service to Germany doesn’t stop (unless construction is done between Zevenaar and Oberhausen) at Köln hbf but at Köln Messe/Deutz
    • There is a 1 per day ICE service to Munchen hbf.

    1. Thanks for your comment!
      – EuroCity Direct: Of course, what a stupid mistake! I will correct the map.
      – ICE Germany: Only the daily ICE services to Munich call at Köln Messe/Deutz instead of Köln Hbf. All other two-hourly services call at Köln Hbf, even during construction work between Zevenaar and Oberhausen. I usually try to focus on the systematic services, so I haven’t included the single service to Munich (or the one calling at Siegburg/Bonn).
