In 2019, I already created a network map showing all trains in Denmark. As there have been some changes in the network on Sjælland and in the western part of Midtjylland, I have updated the map. I used the opportunity and improved the design.

In contrast to the map of 2019, the Letbane in Aarhus and the S-tog commuter trains around Copenhagen are now part of the map. However, only some of the stops can be shown. Apart from the Lokaltog and S-tog lines on eastern Sjælland and Letbane around Aarhus, all stops are shown and labelled now. In Addition to the map of 2019, I added some InterCityLyn lines running only a couple of times per day.

Between Copenhagen and Ringsted, the new high-speed line has been opened. About half of the InterCity and InterCityLyn trains run via the new high-speed line, the other half still uses the “old” line via Roskilde. Other major changes since 2019 are:

  • The line between Roskilde and Køge is served by Lokaltog instead of DSB Regio
  • The InterCity trains Hamburg-Copenhagen run via Padborg-Kolding-Odense instead of Lübeck-Nykøbing F. The ferries Puttgarden-Rødby do not transport trains any more.
  • The InterCityLyn trains to Aalborg run further to the newly opened station Aalborg Lufthavn (Airport).
  • The lines between Vejle, Herning, Struer and Skjern have been rearranged. The Regio trains Vejle-Struer are operated by Arriva instead of DSB and there are less InterCityLyn than before. The line Holstebro-Skjern is now operated by Midtjske Jernbaner instead of Arriva. The Arriva express trains from Aarhus to Herning run further to Struer.

Make sure to check out the newer 2022 version of this map.

  1. Hello Lars

Would I be able to get permission to use this map in a project?
A friend and I will be travelling around Denmark, visiting all the stations and places of interest nearby.

I see you have a PDF available for download, but I want to make sure before we use anything.

    1. Hello Kristoffer
Thanks for asking. Of course, I am happy if it is of use for your project. Feel free to use it, as long as you quote the source.
If you notice any mistakes in the network map or know better expressions for the Danish explanations, feel free to let me know. My Swedish is okay, but I do not really speak Danish.
