Corresponding to the changes on the long-distance rail map 2024, I have also adapted the layout of the night trains map. The enlarged size of the map allows a clearer layout of the lines especially at nodes in contrast to the map of 2023. This is important, as the number of night trains is increasing as well. As on the day map, I have added major stations without night trains for better orientation and English in the key. In addition, the direction of trains not running in both directions is now indicated in a more ‘tidy’ way.

Considering the Nightjet trains of ÖBB, there are two major changes: A new line from Berlin to Paris and Brussels has been introduced. This also affects the existing trains from Vienna to Brussels. They no longer run in combination with the train from Vienna to Nuremberg, Frankfurt and Amsterdam, but with the train to Munich and Paris instead. In addition, the Nightjet train from Berlin to Vienna runs via Dresden and Prague instead of Poland.

The EuroNight train from Warsaw to Vienna is extended to Munich instead of Graz, therefore it is part of the Germany Map for the first time. SJ’s daily EuroNight train from Stockholm has been extended from Hamburg to Berlin. As mostly, there are some minor changes concerning the seasonal trains of UEX and Snälltåget.

In addition, DB’s ICE trains over night have undergone some changes. The major one is the introduction of a daily ICE service from Berlin to Cologne and onwards to Basel.

I made an effort on analysing the timetables carefully. However, if you discover any mistake in the maps, please let me know. Just be aware that I had to make numerous simplifications because the routes and stops vary strongly. Please always refer to the current timetables.
