Voilà the new version of the long-distance rail map of Switzerland 2023. The design remains unchanged apart from adjusting some radii. The most obvious change is the introduction of numbers for every long-distance (and non-long-distance RE) line. Some lines have got an official specific colour, which I also applied in my map.

However, two events have an influence on the long-distance trains: There is maintainance work going on between Zürich HB and Zürich Oerlikon. This is the reason for splitting up trains from the lines IR 13, IR 70 and IR 75 at Zürich HB. The derailment in the Gotthard Base Tunnel leads to diversion of IC 2, IC 21 und EC trains most of the time.

In the canton of Grisons, an additional line has been upgraded to RE. Thus, the number of RE lines not being part of the long-distance network is still increasing. I still want to show all RE trains, although more and more trains that serve ‘regional demand’ can be found on my map, I still want to show all RE trains. The reason remains unchanged: The distinction between ‘regional’ and ‘long-distance’ RE trains (different financing and responsible authority) is irrelevant for passengers.
